Growing up with my mother, a Japanese kirie artist, I learned about my heritage and family through art. As I’ve spent time between the U.S. and Japan, I notice the ways in which both cultures inspire and misinterpret each other. My artwork tries to reconcile these experiences through forms, translation, and exploring traditional mediums.
